Application Process for Psi Chi

Find out how to apply for membership in Psi Chi.

Please read the Psi Chi requirements and procedures before filling out the application. Submission deadline is noon on February 17.

Requirements

Undergraduates

You must be, at minimum, a second-semester sophomore in the top 35% of your class to be eligible for membership. The overall GPA cut-offs for application in Spring 2020 are as follows:

  • Sophomores: 3.653 GPA
  • Juniors: 3.664 GPA
  • Seniors: 3.707 GPA

 Please refrain from applying if you do not meet these standards.


Graduates

The requirements for graduate students vary by program and are as follows:

  • School Psychology:
          – 12-credit minimum
          – 3.8 GPA

  • Mental Health Counseling or General Psychology:
          – 12-credit minimum
          – 3.8 GPA

  • Doctoral Program or PsyD in School Psychology Program:
          – 4.0 GPA
          – Letter of recommendation from adviser

How to Apply

Undergraduate and Masters

  1. Complete the Psi Chi Application. If additional space is needed, please attach a separate sheet to the application.

  2. Also submit an ONLINE application via the International Psi Chi website by going to the following link and clicking on ‘Apply Now‘.

  3. Please print out an unofficial transcript from Degree Audit found within eCampus.

  4. Make a $90 check payable to Adelphi University. This amount covers your application fee, honor cord and chapter fees. In the event that you are not accepted, the check will be voided.

  5. Place all application materials in an envelope with your name on it in the Blodgett 212 mailbox marked “Psi Chi”.
