Application Process

You know you’ve found the right place.

Please read the Psi Chi requirements and procedures before filling out the application.  Submission deadline is noon on February 10.

Requirements

Undergraduates

You must be, at minimum, a second-semester sophomore in the top 35% of your class to be eligible for membership. The overall GPA cut-offs are as follows:

  • Sophomores: 3.622 GPA
  • Juniors: 3.604 GPA
  • Seniors: 3.597 GPA

 Please refrain from applying if you do not meet these standards.


Graduates

The requirements for graduate students vary by program and are as follows:

  • School Psychology:
          - 12-credit minimum
          - 3.8 GPA
          - Statement of approval from the program director

  • Mental Health Counseling or General Psychology:
          - 12-credit minimum
          - 3.8 GPA
          - Letter of recommendation from a full-time faculty member or the program director

  • Doctoral:
          - 4.0 GPA
          - Letter of recommendation from adviser

How to Apply

Undergraduate and Masters

  1. Complete the Psi Chi Application. If additional space is needed, please attach a separate sheet to the application.

  2. Please print out an unofficial transcript from Degree Audit found within eCampus.

  3. Make a $80 check payable to Adelphi University. This amount covers your application fee, honor cord and chapter fees. In the event that you are not accepted, the check will be voided.

  4. Place all application materials in an envelope with your name on it in the Blodgett 212 mailbox marked “Psi Chi”. There, you will also find the interview sign-up sheet.
    All applicants must sign up for an interview when submitting an application.

  5. Once final decisions have been made, applicants will be contacted for an interview. Interviews are mandatory. If for some reason you are unable to make the interview, please contact your interviewer in advance to reschedule.

Doctoral

Doctoral students should contact Katherine Fiori, Ph.D. directly for application submission and interview.
