PMH 507: Vocational Counseling 3 credits Work is of prime importance and absorbs a major portion of the time and energy of most adults. This course will examine the nature of work and vocational development from a conceptual and research perspective. The course content will include (1) the study of the world of work as it impacts one's psychological and sociological life, (2) examination of career development and decision-making theories, and the application to counseling, (3) identification of informational resources related to career development, and (4) exploration of the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds.
